Rich Fan

When I was 17 I had a friend whom I trade saying silly, annoying, mindless things with. A classic one that humoured us took place when we were in his room after school. When we were heading out for lunch, as I followed him out of the room, I asked if he is going to turn off the ceiling fan. He replied,

takpe, bapak aku kaya.

Delayed Wedding Song

Pic by Dd (@devuschka)

Yesterday, 9th February 2010, someone told me I was in this month’s issue of KLue magazine. (I will speak of the story behind this someone in a different post). They had asked me to contribute quite some time ago to a very (very) small part called Soundtrack, where I am asked to name a song I would use to describe KL and why. Other friends of mine who also contributed were Niki Cheong and Grey Yeoh.

The song I chose was Chemistry by Butterfingers. I assume for editing and space reasons, my explanation was not included. I’ve quoted it below.

Like KL, it’s diverse. The song has a few parts. Slow, build-up, drop, tease, intense, suspense. There are nights when I ride my bike on Jalan Kuching at 60km/h with ease, other times at 120km/h with heart. There are times Jalan Sultan Ismail tells me a red light means stop, other times it makes me go faster.

*Blinking blue lights though, well that’s when I’m fcked. ;)

Dahlia & Loque's outdoor altar

On 31st January 2010, I was at a dear friend’s wedding. Dahlia married one of the Butterfingers’ band member, a decent and nice chap I must say. I’d compliment her too, but I think she’s gotten enough.

By post

Today, 10th February 2010, ten days after the wedding, I received her invitation.  Many thanks to the bride’s diligent follow up via electronical means to ensure her guests were cordially informed and invited.

Whence They Came

Actually, stupid people do have brains. It is located at the same spot where intelligent people have theirs. But for the stupid, it came to the location, after it was shoved up via the rear end.

Rush

Sometimes some mornings, where you have to leave home two hours earlier than usual, you misplace your keys and after searching for quite a while, go for the spare.

Anyway, on a related note, going on Jalan Damansara, Jalan Semantan stretch on Friday at 7am sharp on a bike, can be quite a refreshing sensation. Especially at 125km/h.

Proud Genes

.

Recently, friend of mine, mother of two, shows me pictures of her son shortly after telling mewhat kind of a man in her view is handsome. As we view photos from her iPhone, the conversation went,

.

See see my son. He’s four.

Oh. Strong face. Looks like your husband.

No. He looks better.

Of course he does. Your son has you genes, your husband doesn’t.

Yea. That’s right. Look at him. He’s so handsome.

Uhuh.

I’m so proud something that good looking came out my c*nt.

If you’re lactose intolerant, would you consider it insensitive if the photographer tells you to say ‘cheese’?

Hair on my fingers.

Paradox

One of the problems about opposition parties in a political system, or human beings in their daily life, is that they demand for justice but crititcize unfairly. Until they do otherwise, they shan’t dignify themselves unassumingly.

PopIN

.

PopIN is really just an information network for young Malaysians to share (primarily) local content that is creative, critical, innovative, embraces diversity and is under-the-radar (fooyoh!).

.

Last Saturday, for Tali Tenang, Hardesh Singh from PopIN approached RandomAlphabets to offer help. They came in with video support, camera crew and post-production work.

This week I am PopIN’s PopMuda(PM). By that I am committed to write five blog posts for them. I’ve done three so far and you can view them by clicking here.

PM’s also do one twitterview (twitter-interview). Mine 9.30pm tonight. If you have a question, email popin.my@gmail.com or follow @myPopIN on twitter. If you don’t have one
