Hair Look

People go to salons, showing the stylist pictures of celebs they intend to look like.

There are times, they leave unsatisfied, as their semblance lack similarity.

At this juncture, you should find it apt to inform them that it is the face that needs fixing.

If that was not already obvious to them, get the doctors to work on the brain first.

Singing Pain

.
I was having dinner at a mamak recently, three tables away was a two year old child singing ‘We Are The World.’ I am certain it sounded far better in her head.

Compelling Tips

I imagine, one of the most annoying things a new or growing, small size entrepreneur face day to day, is his customers, friends and family offering unsolicited opinions on how he could improve his business. Especially so for those in the food and retails businesses.

Where did this obligation stem from?

Rich Fan

When I was 17 I had a friend whom I trade saying silly, annoying, mindless things with. A classic one that humoured us took place when we were in his room after school. When we were heading out for lunch, as I followed him out of the room, I asked if he is going to turn off the ceiling fan. He replied,

takpe, bapak aku kaya.

Delayed Wedding Song

Pic by Dd (@devuschka)

Yesterday, 9th February 2010, someone told me I was in this month’s issue of KLue magazine. (I will speak of the story behind this someone in a different post). They had asked me to contribute quite some time ago to a very (very) small part called Soundtrack, where I am asked to name a song I would use to describe KL and why. Other friends of mine who also contributed were Niki Cheong and Grey Yeoh.

The song I chose was Chemistry by Butterfingers. I assume for editing and space reasons, my explanation was not included. I’ve quoted it below.

Like KL, it’s diverse. The song has a few parts. Slow, build-up, drop, tease, intense, suspense. There are nights when I ride my bike on Jalan Kuching at 60km/h with ease, other times at 120km/h with heart. There are times Jalan Sultan Ismail tells me a red light means stop, other times it makes me go faster.

*Blinking blue lights though, well that’s when I’m fcked. ;)

Dahlia & Loque's outdoor altar

On 31st January 2010, I was at a dear friend’s wedding. Dahlia married one of the Butterfingers’ band member, a decent and nice chap I must say. I’d compliment her too, but I think she’s gotten enough.

Today, 10th February 2010, ten days after the wedding, I received her invitation.  Many thanks to the bride’s diligent follow up via electronical means to ensure her guests were cordially informed and invited.

Whence They Came

Actually, stupid people do have brains. It is located at the same spot where intelligent people have theirs. But for the stupid, it came to the location, after it was shoved up via the rear end.

Snap

If you’re lactose intolerant, would you consider it insensitive if the photographer tells you to say ‘cheese’?

Paradox

One of the problems about opposition parties in a political system, or human beings in their daily life, is that they demand for justice but crititcize unfairly. Until they do otherwise, they shan’t dignify themselves unassumingly.

It’s True

There are no such thing as stupid questions. But there remains stupid people.

Basis

Pic by Metro Tabernacle

About ten hours ago, a church in KL was partially torched. A similar attempt was made at another in PJ. At this moment in time, although there’s quite an assumption, no one really knows who did it. Another strong and reasonable assumption would be that this has something to do with the December 31st High Court ruling on the usage of ‘Allah’ of the bibles in Malaysia.

A great number of people are condemning the act of arson, as I. Christians, non-Christians. Muslims, non-Muslims. Part of it, because this is a violation of freedom of religion, to attack of place worship.

I won’t repeat what everyone is saying. But as a Muslim, I say to Muslims who head out to condemn the attacks on Muslims in Gaza by non-Muslims, on humanitarian grounds (and not merely emotional whim), or highlighting that basis, should at least sufficiently acknowledge (albeit that a subjective and relative measure), the attacks by Muslims against non-Muslims in Darfur.
