Aside from being a Kid Cudi fan, the thought of producing a video like this, of this nature, from beginning to end, turns me on. The sophistication from concept, planning, pre-production, making sure all angles are captured, understanding the humanization of it, appreciating the close elements of realism, to that time you see the final draft, is to me, the kind of craft I appreciate.

Part of me feels the video, is quite independent from the song. The latter itself, is powerful to me. That’s me though. You make what you want of it.

Additionally, very few, use and/or exploit the use of melody. Orchestra or even violin/cello sounds, which when the use of which fits well, cause be such a swell sound.

How nice.

This is what you can call a show. I’ve been observing a number of stage performances over the past few years, and a great number of musicians, forget when they are on stage, they are there to put on a show. Otherwise, it’s almost as good as getting another band to play your songs exactly as is.

I’m not sure who credit is due to, but I like this video. I suppose Art Director for the concept and Director for incorporating it so well. Simple yet, there.

There’s just something about this song that strikes me. Especially the beginning. Maybe it’s the buildup. Video is nice but a little rubbish.
