This comes after a pleasant evening with Mark, Hardesh, Grey and Michelle where she shared, as she calls it, ‘awful Bridget Jones-esque epic fail dating stories’ which got us laughing extensively. Almost verbatim, this true story (not from Michelle of course) took place long ago, came to me from someone not too long ago.

This one time, I was dating this girl right. Minah ni cam eager beaver sikit aa kan. Aku was like, chill aa you know. And she’s like anak pastor kau tau.
So sekali tu dia pergi band camp au.
Yea yeaaa exactly man. Exactly.
We were driving after she came back and I just turned to her and said, ‘you cheated on me didn’t you?’
Didn’t have to wait for an answer man. I stopped the car and told her get out.

One of the elements of the union between a man and a woman, is the exclusivity that they share.
If a man can greet his female friends in a certain manner, it bothers me that he can’t greet his partner differently, if not in a way that is more specially indicative. Not only it’s a clear illustration as to their union, but as sign of respect to it.
The more distintive they behave to each as oppose to the people around them, may not be an absolute gauge as to the relationship that they share, but it counts nevertheless.

I am now in Singapore and I just got some marriage advice from my grandmother. She told me two things. Between each, a twenty minute interval.
- Get married around 28, 29 years old.
- Get married around 31, 32 years old.
