Improv Video: Black Tie Beach

This project was highlighted to me by Niki Cheong. When I was in NYC, I was meant to meet Charlie Todd of ImprovEverywhere but our schedules did not meet. Their work, I believe has influenced and waved to vast regions around the world today especially in art, activism and advertising, in the same way civil rights movements, political revolutions and other similar milestones. I understand that you might feel I’m exaggerating, but have a forensic look at how (some) things are shifting*. Appreciate that, along with its potential, you might agree.  the If you still don’t, then I must declare my lack of will in assisting the semi-intelligent.

‘For our latest mission we had several hundred agents spend a day at Coney Island / Brighton Beach wearing black tie attire. We covered a mile-long stretch of beach with a diverse group of people of all ages (from babies to sixty-somethings) laying out, playing games, and swimming in the ocean, all in formal wear. Agents were instructed to find cheap tuxedos and ball gowns at thrift stores for the occasion.’

*For example, how South Africa’s liberation from apartheid laws are one of the many elements fueling and supporting the fight against that same discriminatory system in Israel since the 90′s. In fact leaders in both regions (Mandela and Said, to name one instance) are connected in the struggle on this area.
