Yesterday, 9th February 2010, someone told me I was in this month’s issue of KLue magazine. (I will speak of the story behind this someone in a different post). They had asked me to contribute quite some time ago to a very (very) small part called Soundtrack, where I am asked to name a song I would use to describe KL and why. Other friends of mine who also contributed were Niki Cheong and Grey Yeoh.
The song I chose was Chemistry by Butterfingers. I assume for editing and space reasons, my explanation was not included. I’ve quoted it below.
Like KL, it’s diverse. The song has a few parts. Slow, build-up, drop, tease, intense, suspense. There are nights when I ride my bike on Jalan Kuching at 60km/h with ease, other times at 120km/h with heart. There are times Jalan Sultan Ismail tells me a red light means stop, other times it makes me go faster.
*Blinking blue lights though, well that’s when I’m fcked. ;)
.
On 31st January 2010, I was at a dear friend’s wedding. Dahlia married one of the Butterfingers’ band member, a decent and nice chap I must say. I’d compliment her too, but I think she’s gotten enough.
.
Today, 10th February 2010, ten days after the wedding, I received her invitation. Many thanks to the bride’s diligent follow up via electronical means to ensure her guests were cordially informed and invited.
