When to get married

I am now in Singapore and I just got some marriage advice from my grandmother. She told me two things. Between each, a twenty minute interval.

  1. Get married around 28, 29 years old.
  2. Get married around 31, 32 years old.

Very recently, I was travelling alone for almost six weeks. I chose South America partly because that region is most foreign to me. It was there, I think, on my 40 hour south bound journey from Cuzco, Peru to Bahia Inglesa, Chile did the name for this site came to me. While I am bursting to share what I observed, learned and discovered there, I’ll let out first what was the most significant element of the trip. To me.

It was that it was the longest I have been away from my younger sisters.

I started blogging under a social networking site in November 2006. Exactly a year later, I was persuaded to establish my own URL, RandomAlphabets.com, which later became a small community blog of writers, a for-profit organisation, a registered company and a collective that organises events and promote causes.

Because of that, it was no longer my own space. That said, I am humbled by the support starting late 2006 up till the point I made the difficult decision to phase out the blog section of RA, exactly two years later. Throughout, I thank those who express their likeness for what I did, including those who said it in passing.
